Jan Brase receives German Library Hi-Tech award

Jan Brase, Managing Agent of DataCite, received the 2011 German "Library Hi-Tech award". Prof Dr Michael Seadle from Humboldt University and Elke Greifeneder, Editor of Library Hi Tech presented the prize during the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries 2011 in Berlin.
The award is sponsored by Emerald Publishing Group and recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the German Library community in the area of Technology. Jan Brase has been awarded the prize for his leadership in the area of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and especially for his work in founding DataCite.
Another Library Hi-Tech award has been running for a number of years in the United States, in association with the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA). The German prize was introduced in 2008 when the Library Hi Tech editorial team moved to Berlin.
